Homeopathy is used by tens of millions of people around the world and yet the medical and scientific communities continue to attack it as unscientific or worse. There is a tremendous amount of media action right now both sides of the Atlantic - some of it thrilling, some plain positive, and some of it not so positive! Along with her favorite tea and t-shirts she showed a 50-remedy kit (from Washington Homeopathic Products) and a well-thumbed copy of Homeopathic Medicine at Home by Panos & Heimlich. She talked about how she's the 'doctor of the house' and uses homeopathy for everyday complaints and how brilliant it is. How brilliant is that!!! A Public Debate <Back to Top>Is homeopathy pure quackery or perhaps the future of medicine?The University of Connecticut Medical School sponsored a debate that was held last Thursday (October 25th) and broadcast live (and free) over the internet. Six internationally renowned experts made their cases for and against homeopathy, examining the basic science as well as the clinical and epidemiological evidence around this 200 year old system of medicine. These declarations will give a voice to those people whose experience is denied by the recent attacks, and it will also, for the first time, begin to establish the extent to which homeopathy has helped the general public in the UK and throughout the world, whether through prescription or self-medication. Florida Health Freedom <Back to Top>This state's harassment of good people who are doing no harm - through arrests, fines and shutting down their businesses - has recently reached unprecedented levels. The spotlight is now on energy workers and whether the law requires them to be licensed. Florida Health Freedom Action (FHFA) is poised to launch a legislative campaign to clarify that licensure is not required for practitioners of gentle therapies such as laying-on-of-hands, homeopathy and Reiki. In order for this campaign to be a success FHFA urgently needs help. This campaign will cost a minimum of $350,000. For the last 18 months a ferocious battle has been fought (mainly in the press) in which leading scientists have persuaded much of London’s National Health Service to stop funding homeopathy as they say it is ineffective and unproven. On the other side are patients who are fighting back, saying they are living proof that it works.
